Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge is perfectly positioned overlooking a busy watering hole, attracting a variety of wildlife throughout the day. Guests can often watch elephants approaching the fence to drink, while warthogs and other mammals roam the area. On lucky days, even lions and leopards have been spotted visiting the waterhole.
The lodge’s restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, with the outdoor terrace providing spectacular views of the waterhole and the surrounding Pilanesberg National Park scenery. Guests can enjoy their meals while observing wildlife in their natural habitat — a truly immersive safari experience.
One of Kwa Maritane’s unique features is its underground hide. Guests enter a secure gate and walk approximately 100 meters through a tunnel, which is lit for guidance. At the end, you arrive at a hidden viewing area at the waterhole, where elephants, and occasionally lions and leopards, come to drink. A live camera feeds the waterhole action directly to the TVs in each room, so you can keep an eye on wildlife at any time.
The lodge also offers a range of facilities for families and children, including a swimming pool, trampoline, tennis court, and jungle gym, ensuring young guests are entertained for hours.
Accommodation is arranged in two-storey blocks, with ground-floor rooms featuring private patios and first-floor rooms offering balconies. Rooms are thoughtfully equipped with air conditioning, TVs, coffee/tea-making facilities, and toiletries, and most offer views either over the gardens or the bushveld, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of Pilanesberg from the comfort of their room.
