PLACE TO VISIT

Nkasa Rupara National Park

Nkasa Rupara National Park is one of Namibia’s most spectacular and least-visited wilderness areas, offering an authentic safari experience in the lush Zambezi Region.

Formerly known as Mamili National Park, it is Namibia’s largest protected wetland and forms part of the vast Kavango-Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area.

A network of rivers, floodplains and reed-lined channels creates a diverse ecosystem that supports an abundance of wildlife. The park is renowned for its healthy populations of elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, red lechwe and the elusive sitatunga antelope, while its exceptional birdlife makes it a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from May to September, when wildlife congregates around permanent water sources and road conditions are at their best.
