Where is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park?:
Situated in the South Western part of Uganda on the rim of the Rift Valley. Bwindi in the local language means darkness and is usually covered in mist.
Getting to the park is either by road, which takes roughly a 7 hour drive from Kampala or you can fly to one of the airstrips in the area.

Best time to visit this park:
The park receives 2390mm of rain per year.
Light rains fall March to May
Heavy rainfall is from September to November
The coldest months are June and July
Although trekking can be done all year round, the peak season is from Mid June to October and December to March. These months are the driest.
Should you trek during the rainy season, the gorillas tend to be lower in the forest, so trekking is not as strenuous as in the dry season.
Gorilla Trekking in the park:
You need to be relatively fit to do a Gorilla Trek here, the terrain is incredibly steep and misty. You need to have the correct clothing for this, like raincoats and comfortable hiking boots.
There are currently 320 gorillas in this park.
You need to obtain a gorilla trek permit, which will be included in your packages when you book with Go African Adventures.
Only 1 hour is allowed with these beautiful giants.
Your trek to the gorillas could be a 2 hour hike or more. So being prepared will definitely make the experience more enjoyable.
