Maun

Maun is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River. The name Maun is derived from the word "Maung" comes from the San word "the place of reeds".

Maun is a bustling town of just 55 000 residents. This is the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Stop here to over night and replenish your supplies and head to Moremi Game Reserve or Savute.

The main airport is Maun International serving both domestic and international flights.

Scenic flights over the Okavango Delta also leave from Maun airport.

Department of Wildlife and national Parks (DWNP) is also situated in Maun where you can pay your park entry fees.
