Tarangire National Park is a much quieter park than Serengeti. It is less touristy so sightings are not over crowded.
Due to the Tarangire River flowing all year round, it becomes a magnet in the dry season attracting all the animals. This park is truly a birders paradise hosting over 500 bird species.
Massive herds of elephants traverse this park. One can see around 300 elephant in a herd.
Visiting the park is a year round affair. Each season bringing its own uniqueness.
The journey from Arusha is on a good road and only takes about 1 1/2 hours to the Main Gate in the north.
