Xhumaga is a 2 hour drive from Maun along a tar road. The Boteti River runs through this area, it emerges from Maun through Thamalakane River developing from the outflow from the Okavango Delta. The Boteti River forms the Western part of the Makgadikgadi Pan National Park.
Wildebeest and zebra make their way to the Boteti River during their migration period between June and October a fabulous sighting to see.
You will need to use the ferry to cross the Boteti River when it is flowing. Once the river is all dried up, you can drive across the river bed.
